This evening as I write, Surrey residents are packing a Surrey council meeting tonight in hopes to get a chance to speak their piece about the proposed Surrey Casino. Sounds like it will be a long night too with well over 100 people prepared to speak.
The Surrey Casino is slated for the 10th avenue and 168th area of South Surrey. The Surrey Casino will cost $100 million dollars to build.
Supporters of the casino are in favour of it because of the jobs that it will create along with the potential revenue dollars that it will provide for local businesses.
Those against the Surrey Casino are concerned about gambling addictions and what it could do to our community. Other concerns are the potential traffic congestion and more importantly the environmental impact on the area.
What do you think of the proposed Surrey Casino? Are you for or against?
