Unless you live under a rock, by now you have heard about the new iPhone 5 that was introduced today. Pre-sales for the iPhone 5 start on Friday in Canada and the US. Sales are expected to far exceed the release of any of the previous versions.
Until a few months ago I was still running with the iPhone 3GS and quite happy with it. My daughter actually had the iPhone 4 and the only reason I preferred her phone to my own was because the camera on the 3GS took terrible pictures whereas the iPhone 4 takes pretty good pictures.
I was looking forward to the release of the new iPhone 5...but not for the same reason as the rest of the world. I was looking forward to being able to purchase the iPhone 4S for a much cheaper price than I ended up paying. :) My family calls me cheap, but I've never been the type of person that has to have the biggest and the best or the newest toy...just because. Needless to say I was quite disappointed when I dropped my phone in July and literally shattered the screen. What's amazing is how well the shards still stay together. I taped my screen like so many others that I have seen out there. But after a week or so caved and went out and purchased an iPhone 4S. I admit I do love my new phone, but it drives me crazy that not even 2 months later I could have paid much less. I think the iPhone 4S was probably the best for new features out of the last 3 models. The iPhone 5 is supposed to be lighter and slimmer and of course the speed is like no other technology out there. My iPhone 4S works just fine and I have never really had any issues with connectivity on either of my phones. This time I purchased a warranty pkg. so that if my phone gets damaged again I won't have to shell out an arm and a leg...because I already have. LOL By the time I need a new phone I am sure we will have iPhone 10 or higher.
I have to laugh, my crackberry hubby wants to turn to the dark side and has been brainwashed into wanting the new iPhone 5 just because of all the hype. I am sure I didn't help with that when we gave him an iPad for his birthday earlier this year. If he had to choose between me and his iPad...I think I would lose. :)
Steve Jobs was surely a genius as he created a cult all his own, the icult where everyone wants anything that Apple spits out.
Have you been indoctrined? :)
