Harvest Vegetables

Last week I wrote about God's Little Acre Farm on 40th avenue and their need for volunteers. It has been exciting to see the news coverage and then hear about the overwhelming amount of help that this farm is receiving.

I started following God's Little Acre farm on Facebook and laughed at today's post from the owner of the farm - Jas Singh. He's had so many calls and emails, he hasn't been able to keep up. He thought then why not just change his voicemail to include the days, times and location for volunteers to just show up. But what he never expected was over 1100 calls. Nor did he realize that once his voicemail was full people wouldn't be hearing his message... He called himself "dumb, dumb". Dumb he is not, someone who gives so selflessly to others is certainly not dumb.

On top of all the calls he has received a large number of emails including one from myself letting him know we will be putting together a team of people to come out on September 21st. I was very impressed he returned my email in the wee hours of the morning with a response inviting us to come out to this weekends event as well.

This Saturday if you decide to head out they will be having their annual event with over 200 people from the Canucks organization with live entertainment, food and lots fun for everyone. There my even be a couple Canuck players as well, what better way to spend your Saturday then to donate a helping hand and get a chance to possibly see a Canuck Player.
